Group makes roads at Pristina less steep

Aboitizland has standardized Pristina North’s road network to 14 percent grade to conform to the “walkability” feature of the development, as dictated in the project’s masterplan.

The road grade dictates the steepness of the road; the higher the percentage the steeper the road will be.

TCGI Engineers, Aboitiz-land’s engineering consultant, drafted the detailed engineering design to meet the requirements set by Pristina North’s masterplan with regard to the road grade and road network, water, drainage, sewer and underground electrical system.

The roads in the subdivision will be limited to 14 percent grade so that these will not be too steep.

“The roads are designed in such a way that it’s easy to walk on (them). You wouldn’t also need a four-wheel drive vehicle just to climb the roads. Two wheel drive vehicles can easily traverse them,” Marivic Bispo, TCGI Engineers project manager, said.

This design is currently implemented by Aboitizland’s construction group where development works have already reached phase two, with homeowners set to begin building houses by the end of the second quarter of 2006.

Bispo said: “With the masterplan, we created the design to make it livable and viable. The terrain was a combination of flat and mountainous area, mostly inhabitable, so we designed the grades in such a way that the buildings can be built.” (PR)
