Cebu Yearbook 2006 out now
With balikbayan family members and friends in town for the Sinulog, one challenge for Cebuanos these days is finding new destinations to keep the guests entertained.
The rewards for a sense of adventure and an open mind? “Snapshots of an inspired past and pasalubongs of insight,” writes Kristin Aldana-Lerin in The Cebu Yearbook 2006.
Lerin paints a seductive portrait of Camotes (“The lake is a shapely figure eight, with a navel of an islet dotting its curvy waist”) that confirms there’s more to Cebu than its postcard-pretty beaches.
Companion articles by Rogelio Murcia and Jeneen Garcia take the reader on a road trip (“by turns pilgrimage and festival”) of the south, with its fortresses and seascapes, followed by the quirks and industry of the north.
The Cebu Visitors’ Guide lists numerous choices for sightseeing, dining, shopping and soaking up some local color---an essential insider’s guide to help visitors sample the island’s many attractions.
And if you’re one of those unfortunates, too work-loaded for anything beyond armchair travel, the stories in themselves will make the trip worth your while.
The Cebu Yearbook 2006, produced by Sun.Star Publishing Inc. for its sixth year, will be available starting this month.
You can pick up copies for yourself and your guests from: Sun.Star Fuente and Mandaue; ATJ Travel and Tours; Bigby’s Ayala; Booksale SM and pier area; Brews Point; Café Georg; Cebu Midtown Hotel; Cinderella Tours and Travel; Delmar Travel and Tours; Destinations Specialists SM and E-Mall; Lim’s News and Magazines; Mail and More; National Bookstore Ayala, Mango and SM; Nikkei Garden Hotel; Oh Georg; Rajah Travel Philippines; Rex Bookstore; Roma Mia Ayala, SM and Tojong; RSO Robinsons and SM City; Skyways Travel and Tours; Table 7; Waterfront Lahug; White Gold; and Worldlink Travel and Tours.
