Z Gorres, Amonsot get new opponents in Las Vegas fights
Z Gorres and Czar Amonsot got new opponents in their Feb. 3 fights at the Orleans Casino in Las Vegas.
Earlier, world-rated Mexican Samuel Lopez was to fight Gorres, while another Mexican fighter, Arturo Quintero, was pitted against Amonsot. However, due to scheduling conflicts of the two Mexican boxers, Guilty Promotions was forced to shop for other opponents for the ALA Boys.
Jose Alfredo Tirado will take on Gorres and Antonio Wong will be Amonsot’s foe.
“It is unfortunate, but circumstances like this happen frequently in this business.
Nevertheless, over the past few days Jimmy Montoya (the director of boxing operations and chief matchmaker of Guilty Boxing) and I had a number of discussions prior to agreeing on Tirado and Wong,” said the ALA Boys’ American business manager Michael Koncz.
Koncz said Wong is a very aggressive fighter who likes to mix it up, while Tirado is very tough.
“Tirado will be a very good test for Czar. Last September, Tirado fought Diosdado Gabi. The fight was stopped after five exciting action-packed rounds due to an accidental headbutt, which caused a severe cut above Gabi’s left eye,” Koncz said.
Wong’s professional record is 11 wins (7 KOs), five losses and a draw. Tirado is 22 (13 KOs)-9-0. (RCM)
