Neighbor attacks ‘tipster’

AN ANGRY drug courier in Pangdan, Naga stabbed his neighbor whom he suspected to be a police asset who squealed on his activities to the police.

Roelito Jumao-as, 24, survived by running inside his house. The attack took place past 9 a.m. yesterday while Jumao-as was on his way home from the market in Barangay Poblacion.

He said suspect Rudy Sueto blocked his path and confronted him about why he went to the police.

Jumao-as tried to explain but Sueto wouldn’t listen. Instead, Sueto stabbed him with a fan knife in the stomach and back.

Plea for help

Although wounded, Jumao-as managed to run inside his house and shouted to his wife and neighbors for help. He was brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC).

In another incident in Lapu-Lapu City, a man was wounded after confronting another man whom he suspected to be carrying an affair with his live-in partner.

Leonardo Padrio, 20, was taken to the VSMMC after the incident at 1 a.m. The suspect, only identified as Bogs, remains at large.

Homicide investigator PO3 William Homoc said that before the incident, Padrio’s live-in partner Janeth Ybañez went out of their house in Barangay Gun-ob to go to a disco. After an hour, Padrio followed Janeth and saw her talking with the suspect.

In the argument that followed, the suspect stabbed Padrio in the neck and stomach using an ice pick. (AIV)
