UP Open University, h. s.now accepting applications
The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Learning Center at UP Cebu College is currently accepting applications for admission to the Master of Public Health program for the First Semester, SY 2006-2007.
The UP Open University is the fifth constituent university of the University of the Philippines System and it has been mandated to provide education opportunities to individuals aspiring for higher education and improved qualifications but who are unable to take advantage of traditional modes of education. Upou provides quality higher and continuing education to Filipinos through distance education.
The Master of Public Health program seeks to assess the health and related needs and resources of communities and analyzes the interrelationship of the physical, biological, chemical, economic, political and socio-cultural factors influencing the health situation in any setting. It consists of 35 units of course work and may be completed in three years and two summers.
Qualifications
Applicants should be a graduate of an accredited medical school or have professional training in nursing, dentistry, engineering or veterinary medicine and have at least one year experience or previous training in public health.
Application forms may be secured at the Upou Learning Center at UP Cebu College Cebu or may be downloaded from the UPOU website at www.upou.org.
Deadline for receiving applications for admission is on February 28. Accomplished application forms are to be sent directly to Los Banos at the following address: Admissions Section,Office of the University Registrar,UP Open University, Los Banos, Laguna
Meanwhile, the deadline for the submission of applications for admission for other post baccalaureate programs such as the Diploma in Science Teaching, Master of Hospital Administration, Master of Development Communication, Master of Arts in Nursing, Master in Information Systems, Diploma in Computer Science, Diploma in Research and Development Management and the Diploma/Master in Environmental and Natural Resources Management will be on Feb.28.

Admission Test
The UP High School in Cebu is now accepting applications for admission for first year high school for school year 2006-2007. Requirements for admission are the following:
Family annual income of P150,000 or less; average grade of at least 85 per cent for the five subjects – Math, Science, English, Social Studies and Filipino;conduct grade of B or its equivalent; qualifying rank in the High School Admission Test.
Last day for filing application forms is March 3. The admission test is on March 11.

The University of the Philippines in the Visayas Cebu College (UPVCC) is now accepting applications to the graduate program in Environmental Studies for the first semester, 2006-2007.
