UC-METC now offers Ship Simulator, Bridge Teamwork
THE University of Cebu-Maritime Education and Training Center (UC-METC) now offers Ship Simulator and Bridge Teamwork (SSBT) as part of its Maritime Upgrading Courses intended for Marine Deck officers.
In a memorandum of agreement inked between UC president, Atty. Augusto W. Go and New Simulator Center for the Philippines president, Capt. Burt Sabay, UC-METC is licensed to conduct the course on the basis of its world-class facilities, being the only Maritime Learning Institution in the Visayas which has a Full Mission Simulator.
SSBT is a requisite for Maritime Deck officers in processing their license with the PRC. In previous years, SSBT was only offered in Manila and proven to be financially burdensome for those coming from the Visayas and Mindanao.
According to Capt. Siegfredo Lanticse, dean of the UC-METC, taking the course at UC-METC will include the facilitating of a trainees application for Practical Assessment with the PRC-accredited assessment center, New Simulator Center of the Philippines
