RSB buys IT infra to ensure services
To address its need for constant information technology (IT) infrastructure, RCBC Savings Bank (RSB) recently acquired American Power Conversion’s (APC) InfraStuXure to ensure availability of services provided by its in-house data center.
The move was meant to enhance RSB’s online teller service and loan systems, automated teller machines (ATM), network, server, PBX, e-mail and Internet capabilities for its branches. The bank also underwent systems integration and branch rationalization with its mother bank, Rizal Commercial Banking Corp.
Allan Dolores, RSB technical support and engineering department head, said the bank put a premium on APC’s complete technology offering that will “enable us to support our data center with ease, especially in the area of maintenance.”
“Even though our business centers only operate five times a week, 24x7 connectivity and availability of the entire IT infrastructure is still crucial.” (PR)
