Mandaue City to organize Kabayo Festival this month

Mandaue City will again host the Kabayo Festival, which is organized by the Cebu Quine Owners, Breeders and Sportsmen Association (Ceobsa) on Feb. 25 and 26 at Mandaue South Reclamation Area, Cebu Boardwalk.

The National Horseshow and Competition is expected to attract once again enthusiasts from Dacao Horse Club, Ormoc, Horsemen’s Association, Malaybalay Horsemen Association, Impasug-ong Horsemen’s Association, Southern Mindanao Horsemen’s Federation, Cagayan de Oro Horsemen’s Association and the Tagaytay Highlands Horsemen’s Association. hey also expect to attract Japanese, English and American expats to participate in the event.

Horseracing

The show will be centered mainly on the Gov. Gwen Garcia and Mayor Teddy Ouano Cup horse racing competition, the parade of horses and the best decorated tartanillas.

The Tartanilla category will be participated by the association of cocheros that plies the Pasil-Duljo routes.

Aside from the display of fine horse breeds, the festival is also aimed to promote sports tourism, eco-tourism and agri-industrial tourism through the “Tabo sa Rancho,” which will feature a bazaar and a flea market participated by companies catering to animal industry, agriculture and the travel and tourism. The LGUS in the Visayas and Mindanao will also join the fair. (RCM)
