ACBC registration starts

Registration is now open for the All Cebu Basketball Championships (ACBC) to open on April 16 at either the USC Boys High Gym, MetroSports in Lahug or City Sports Club in Ayala.

The summer tournament is geared towards bringing about healthy competition among basketball fanatics for fun and recreation.

Part of the proceeds of the tournament and team donations will be for the benefit of the victims of the landslide in St. Bernard, Southern Leyte. Teams will be required to bring used clothing, canned goods and other relief goods during the opening.

Registration for the tournament is set at P6,500 plus a P1,000 bond. The champion will receive P8,000 plus trophy, second placer will get P6,000 plus trophy, while the third placer will receive a trophy.

Each team will be allowed to have one ex-collegiate varsity (inactive for three years), two six-footers but not over 6-foot-4.

Active undertrainees will be subject to approval by the committee. The organizers have also ruled not to allow those who are active or ex-commercial players and active collegiate players.

There will be a bracketing of teams if 10 teams or more join.

Aside from the cash prizes, the participating teams will also receive one team picture each with frame courtesy of K Gallery Frames.

Deadline of confirmation is on March 15, with half of the down payment on the registration fee to be paid on that date.

The final payment will be collected on March 31.
