Rustans Supermarket Cebu upgrades to Rustans Fresh
FOR over a quarter of a century, Rustans Supermarket along Gen. Maxilom Avenue has been a familiar destination for many Cebu City shoppers, endearing a loyal clientele with its always excellent selection, service, and value.
But as times change, establishments must change with them, and to better serve its customers, Rustans Supermarket Cebu announced that they would be temporarily closing their doors as they transition into the enhanced Rustans Fresh concept and move to a new location in Arcenas Estate, Banawa, Cebu City.
“The temporary closure was primarily a business decision,” says RSI VP-Administrations, Jess Dilao. “The management has always recognized the dynamism of the retailing industry, especially in regard to customer behavior, preferences, and expectations, and we made this decision in order to fully focus our energies in developing a superior shopping experience for customers in our new store.”
The new Rustans Supermarket Fresh Cebu is expected to open on April 2006. A pioneer of the enhanced supermarket concept in the Philippines, Rustans already has several Fresh branches in Metro Manila, and now brings this innovation to Metro Cebu.
Aside from the regular grocery items, Rustans Fresh shoppers can expect the best and the widest selection of fresh merchandise, ranging from meat, produce and seafood to dairy and deli. Additionally, the new store will have specialty sections for gourmet and health lines, as well as a bakeshop for freshly-baked bread and a coffeeshop for fresh brews.
And during this transition period, Rustans decided to lessen the inconvenience of customers as well as service their fresh meat requirements by establishing a meat shop along Arcenas Street in Paseo Center. This temporary meat shop will start operations on March 1, 2006 and continue to run until the new Rustans Fresh is inaugurated.
“We at Rustans would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to our many customers for their continued patronage all these years,” says Dilao. “We apologize for any inconvenience this transition may have caused, but be assured that the new Rustans Supermarket Fresh branch will exceed your expectations and continue the Rustans tradition of giving customers the best in quality and service.”
