Barbas, Viloria bag Cetba tilts
Joey Barbas maintained his A game in the whole series to top the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association January-February Contest at the SM Bowling Center last weekend, with an eight-round total of 1,729.
Barbas got the lead as early as the first round, rolling a 254 for a nine-pin lead against second placer Celis Viloria. Viloria finished the series with 1,585, after losing steam at the start of the sixth round — failing to break the 200-point plateau after hitting three consecutive rounds above 200.
Both bowlers ended up winners after Barbas got the Bowler of the Month for January title, while Viloria got the February award.
Third placer Art Dacumos, who rolled 1,575, was declared the runner-up for January, while William Lao, who finished with 1,574 at fourth, was declared runner-up for February.
Other bowlers in the top ten are Beth Ngo, Joe Garces, Jake Yap, Isaac Tindoy, Ben Miranda and Boy Kua. (ML)
