Dendramil 1994 keeps clean record with 6 straight wins

Dendramil Merchandizing ’94 once again rode on the vaunted one-two punch of Anwar Satina and Wellington Yu to stretch the winless streak of Juvis Marketing 2003, 82-65, while keeping its unbeaten record intact in the Cecaba’s 8th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup on Friday at the CEC Gym.

Satina unloaded 24 points, five assists, four rebounds, and three steals, while Yu banged in 21 points on top of 14 rebounds and six assists in an all-around show that vaulted Class ’94 to the top of the totem pole with a clean 6-0 slate.

Trailed

Class ’94 trailed by seven points at halftime, 27-34, but whipped up a furious second-half storm capped by a game-closing 32-14 spurt to fluster Class 2003 at the final buzzer.

Joey Catipay had 22 points and nine rebounds, while Winston Tan and Jimpaul Yankee combined for a 29-point output but still fell short Class 2003 wallowed further at the cellar with a pitiful 0-5 record.

In the other game, cat-quick playmaker Stephen Lee torched for a season-high 23 points to carry Armour Wood ’81/’85 to a 64-38 massacre of the hapless Greenhills Quality Feeds ’86/’90.

Class ’81/’85 pummeled Class ’86/’90 quarter after quarter starting off with an 18-8 blitz in the first 10 minutes of play. The lead ballooned to 44-30 at the end of the third period, before Class ’81/’85 eventually finished off Class ’86/’80 with a devastating 20-8 run in the windup.

Lee was backed by the steady-handed Joel Chan, who was an assist shy of a triple-double with 17 points, 15 rebounds, and nine assists in a display of all-around brilliance.

Edvin Kaw added seven points and nine rebounds as Clas s ’81/’85 improved to 5-1.

Frederick Chua had 15 points and seven rebounds, Israel Sang added 10 points for Class ’86/’90, which suffered its sixth straight defeat in as many games.

Class 1994 (82) – Satina 24, W. Yu 21, Bejer 10, Gaw 8, Chua 4, Kwan 4, Peρa 4, Beldeniza 3, Go 2, Jao 2. Class 2003 (65) – Catipay 22, W. Tan 15, Yankee 14, Javier 9, Tan 2, Olis 2, Tan 1.
