Mall to hold fashion show, challenge

LUYM-owned The Mango Square has come up with events to entertain mall goers every weekend.

According to Mango Square center marketing officer and event director John Lo, these events are designed to encourage people to come to the mall.

“Most of the time, due to financial constraints, people (do not want) to go to malls. This is why we have decided to conceptualize events and other activities that will encourage people to come to Mango Square. This will also help build our relationship with mall goers,” he said.

One of these activities is the “Weekend Challenge,” which will be held every Saturday. During the event, Lo said Mango Square will invite local and Manila-based celebrities, such as models, actors and singers.

Entertainment

Aside from the challenge itself, there will also be other entertainment activities, such as singing performances and dances.

The Mango Square will also hold a Mango Fashion Festival on March 18, which will feature models donning outfits and accessories sold by tenants of the mall’s bazaar.

Help promote

“This activity is also one way of helping them (tenants) promote their products,” Lo said.

He said the event will be different from conventional fashion shows because models will be picked from among mall goers.

Since last Monday, Lo has been scouting for pretty faces inside the Mango Square.

“It would be fulfilling especially if our choices will be discovered by agents while doing the fashion show with us. At least, we are instruments of their success,” he said.

The three-day 4th Cyclus Bike and Auto Show, which will kick off today, will also be held at the Mango Square. (JBN)
