Married priests to hold convention in Cebu city

The 10TH National Convention of the Philippine Federation of Married Catholic Priests will be held April 29, 30-May 1 in Cebu city.

Venue is the COA building on M.J. Cuenco Ave., cor. V. Sotto.

Theme is Renewed Ministries – Services for Today.

Schedule on April 29 is: 9 a.m. -Arrival of delegates, registration and check-in; 2 p.m. -press conference; 5 p.m. - Opening ceremonies which include opening prayer; Pamban sang Awit and a welcome by Jimmy Locay-locay, president of AMP-Cebu and by Gov. Gwen Garcia

At 7 there will be a dinner, evening socials and informal small group meetings.

The April 30 schedule includes 8:30 -Convention overview/house rules/announcements;8:45 -President’s Report on the State of the Federation-International Congress 9:15-Vice-Presidents Reports:Luzon Visayas and Mindanao.At 10:30 there will be an echo of Fr. Esteban’s keynote presentation in Wiesbaden: “From Holiness to Compassion” by O.P. Carvajal.

At 1;30 p.m. a group discussion on the presentation will be held followed by discussion reports at 3:30. A general assembly meeting will be held at 5 p.m. whose agenda includes discussion, revisions, confirmation of the President’s state of the federation report. A resolution will be passed adopting the final declaration of Wiesbaden, followed by an election of officers, election of an alternate member of the International Coordinating Committee. Eucharistic celebration will be held at 8;30 followed by a raffle draw and socials.

On May 1 there will be a closing prayer and a joint meeting of the old and new set of officers.
