Pals seek first win, play Giants in Hong Kong today
The Talk ’N Text Phone Pals seek their first-ever victory in the Gran Matador Brandy-PBA Philippine Cup when they take on the Purefoods Chunkee Giants in the league’s first official out-of-the-country game this season at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Hong Kong.
The Phone Pals-Giants game is slated at 4:10 p.m., the same time when the Coca-Cola Tigers take on the San Miguel Beermen at the Araneta Coliseum in Pasay City.
Still winless after two games, the Phone Pals are in a must-win situation if they hope to avoid their worst start in a conference so far.
The Phone Pals haven’t been on a long losing spell to start a campaign since going 0-2 at the beginning of the 2003 All-Filipino Cup.
Currently at the bottom of the standings with a 0-2 win-loss card, the Phones Pals lost badly to defending champion Barangay Ginebra in their debut, 81-98, and then dropped a heartbreaking 102-105 thriller to Air21 the last time. (JSV)
