Smart launches int'l e-Loading

Migrant Filipinos and OFWs based in Guam are now able to send Smart and Talk ‘n Text electronic load (e-Load) to their loved ones in the Philippines with the launching of international eLoading service in the US Territory, Roger Quevedo, head of the Wholesale Business Group of Smart Communications, Inc., has announced.

“This is the first of a series of international e-Loading partnership projects,” Quevedo said, “and it is made possible through special arrangement with HafaTel, one of Smart’s mobile roaming partners in Guam”.

“With its successful pilot launching, Smart international e-Loading service will soon become available in other countries worldwide. We are looking at launching similar services in Taiwan, the US mainland, and certain countries in the Middle East and Europe where there is high concentration of overseas Filipinos” Quevedo added.

Smart e-Load is now conveniently available at all HafaTel Exchanges around the island in local currency equivalents of the PHP500, PHP300 and PHP200 denominations. With this new innovative service from Smart, it is now easier and safer for overseas Filipinos to send e-Loads to their loved ones in the Philippines. It is as easy as sending text messages.

According to Quevedo, prior to this service, Filipinos in Guam who wanted to send e-Load to the Philippines were buying smuggled Smart prepaid cards at exorbitant rates from unauthorized sources. With the launching of the new service, Filipinos can avoid fraudulent purchases, save money and expect steady supply and excellent customer care and support.

Smart expects to grow this international service to become a good and stable revenue source for the group.
