APC Service Center launches 'Piso Lang Ang Repair' promo
The American Power Conversion (APC) Service Center with ABS-CBN Foundation will launch “Piso Lang Ang Repair”, a cost-saving, environmental campaign on the proper disposal of batteries.
APC users may now avail themselves of the Php 1 repair service fee and parts (excluding batteries). To qualify, the UPS unit must have no prior servicing from unauthorized parties. The promo is valid for APC BackUPS and SmartUPS models up to 5KVA only. The replaced batteries will then be disposed of through the Bantay Baterya Project of the ABS-CBN Bantay Kalikasan.
According to Gina Lopez, ABS-CBN Foundation managing director, “the Bantay Baterya Project is an advocacy and media campaign created by the Bantay Kalikasan to create sustained public awareness on the health and environmental hazards posed by the indiscriminate disposal and handling of junk batteries.” This project is being undertaken in cooperation with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-EMB and Philippine Recycler’s, Inc., the lone accredited battery recycling facility in the country.
“This promotion is APC’s contribution to the pursuit of a long term and environmentally sound program of reducing incidence of improper lead acid battery disposal” said Carel Villanueva, Marcom manager for APC Asean.
Batteries are oftentimes the only component of a UPS unit that will need to be replaced over time, depending on usage and age. Being able to test a battery and replace it when needed is an important feature that reduces cost of ownership and increases the lifespan of a UPS. Through this promotion, computer owners need not discard their UPS since they can simply have the battery replaced with brand new ones that are OEM-guaranteed by APC.
“The promo allows APC users to save more and at the same time support the environmental projects of Bantay Kalikasan,” said Villanueva.
The “Piso Lang Ang Repair” promo is available in Metro Manila and Metro Cebu only and will be fulfilled by Clixlogic Inc., APC’s service center in the Philippines.
For promotion information, please contact Beth Celis (Manila) at 727-6982, Ramon Salvador (Cebu) at (032) 261-6505, or send your queries via email at piso@clixph. com. This promo is also available thru an APCdealer near you. Promo ends April 30.
