Kadaugan sa Mactan Trade Fair at Mactan Shrine

A ten day trade fair is being scheduled April 19 to 28 at the Mactan Shrine as a component of the 2006 Kadaugan sa Mactan celebration.

The trade fair will showcase products from Lapu-lapu City such as guitars, shellcraft, and wood products. Other products to be displayed are pasalubong items, souvenir shirts, sandals, fashion accessories, Baguio products, novelty items, and more.

The Lapu-lapu City Tourism, Cultural, and Historical Affairs Commission, chaired by Councilor Damian Gomez, has lined up other activities including the holding of a Food Festival, Agri Fair, contests on wood carving, swimming, and oratory. There will also be mobile passporting, live band concerts, painting exhibits, stage plays, and a Miss Gay Beauty Pageant. All these component activities are expected to provide a festive atmosphere for the annual re-enactment of the historic Battle of Mactan every April 27.

For complete details of the 2006 Kadaugan sa Mactan celebration, including the Trade Fair, one may contact the Lapu-lapu City Tourism office through telephone number 341-1644. Look for Elmer, Sunshine, or Sheila. You may also get in touch with the Trade Fair coordinator, Tommy Parot through telephone number 254-0299 or mobile number 0917-329-5752.
