USC to hold summer sports clinics

The University of San Carlos (USC) will hold clinics in different events at its different sports facilities this summer.

USC sports director Fr. Vic Uy gave the go-signal for the holding of sports camps in basketball, lawn tennis, martial arts and swimming.

The basketball clinic will be held at two venues: the USC South Campus on P. del Rosario Ext. St. and at the USC North Campus on Gen. Maxilom St.

Both camps will be supervised by USC Warriors head coach Michael Reyes, who will be assisted by former local hoops hero Christopher Abellana and Cielo Reyes.

The South Campus sessions will be on April 17 to May 6, while the North Campus clinic is ongoing until April 28. Both camps are held Monday to Friday from 3-5 p.m. Registration fee is P1,000. Contact persons for the North Campus clinic are Lolito Tampus and Galimar Largo at 231-4012 or 233-3145 local 33, and Mercy (253-0117 local 23) for the South Campus.

Tennis sessions will be held Monday to Friday from April 26 to May 25 at the university’s tennis courts at the Main Campus. Sessions under USC coach Roberto “Bobby” Soquiño will be divided into two: for beginners at 7-9 a.m. and for advanced players at 9-11 a.m. Registration fee is P1,000 inclusive of a T-shirt.

The martial arts clinic will be handled by Isagani Batayola every Tuesday and Thursday at 2-4 p.m. from April 17 to May 19 at the USC Gym. Registration fee is P800.

The swimming sessions will be held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the USC swimming pool with Ramon Lopez at the helm. Sessions start on April 17 until May 19 with an P800 registration fee.
