Promoter expects Rodman to flash his antics in Cebu exhibition

MARIO Whitmire, the president of West End Sports Tour (West), expects Dennis Rodman to flaunt the antics that made him popular besides the skills that once made him the NBA rebound king.

“What we’re worried of is what he is going to show here. I mean what he is going to do outside the court,” Whitmire said during the press conference yesterday at the Mandaue City conference hall. Mandaue City and Cebu Province combined efforts and finances to bring Rodman and company to Cebu.

The NBA legend who made headlines with his outrageous antics and decadent lifestyle drew a mammoth crowd during his official book launching of “I Should Be Dead By Now,” in a giant hearse at the GoldenPalace.Com gate.

Giant hearse

An Internet report stated that “the crowd had gathered in front of the store looked on in disbelief when a giant hearse pulled up at the store and several scantily-clad women wearing the infamous GoldenPalace.com ad tattoo acted as pallbearers for the monstrous coffin.

“Rodman emerged from the coffin dressed to the nines and wearing a Beetlejuice wig and makeup to greet fans and media that attended the event. Rodman plans to be buried in the very same coffin when he dies and GoldenPalace.com has promised to keep the coffin until that day.”

Wild living

The book tells the story of Rodman’s wild living and outlandish publicity stunts.

Whitmire’s West signed up Rodman last March 9. This is the first time Whitmire’s group has brought the tour outside the US.

“This is something new to us and the NBA legends are also excited to be here in the Philippines since they heard that Filipinos are crazy about basketball. And I can attest to that because I am married to a Filipina,” said Whitmire. (RCM)
