Enchanted fair By
Adrian Lino Arquiza
You don’t need to study at Hogwarts, attend the Tri-Wizard Cup or watch the World Quidditch Championship to have a magical, mystical experience. Head over to Plantation Bay Resort and Spa and visit their Enchanted Fair. Featuring personalities that could have come out of the pages of your favorite Harry Potter book, this year’s Summer Frolix at Orion Beach is sure to be an enjoyable excursion for the whole family.
Aside from the usual bevy of jugglers, jesters, princesses and fairy godmothers, there was a fortuneteller and a magician to amaze guests with their expertise in the magical arts.
Have a penchant for knowing what the future holds for you? Fortune telling, or ‘divination’ as it is known in the wizarding world, is a skill Madame Luz has long mastered. Plantation Bay’s resident seer, Madame Luz has over twenty years of experience in the telling of fortunes under her belt (or turban in her case). She has traveled not only all over the Philippines but also the rest of the world, wowing everyone with her talent for foreseeing. With only an ordinary deck of playing cards to help her see the future, she could definitely give Hogwarts’ Professor Trelawney some major competition.
For those who want to see a wizard strut his stuff, Enchanted Fair has its own magician to astound guests with mind-boggling magic tricks. Wearing a pointed hat and a purple robe decorated with magical-looking symbols, Enchanted Fair’s Merlin the Magician would not be out of place walking with Headmaster Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall along the halls of Hogwarts. Children and adults alike will enjoy this particular magician’s lively and colorful show, what with canes turning into scarves, scarves changing color, water disappearing into a folded newspaper and handkerchiefs and plastic drinking cups appearing out of thin air. A live chicken emerging from an empty silken pouch and a bunny rabbit materializing out of a seemingly vacant chest served as the highlights of his delightfully enchanting presentation. Or was it his impersonations of Michael Jackson that stole the show? Whatever it may have been, the audience was certainly held spellbound.
Plantation Bay certainly pulled out all the stops in giving its guests a extraordinary time at the Enchanted Fair. Harry Potter himself couldn’t have done better.
