Celebrities to join Guardo badminton

Four celebrities will participate in the Guardo Sports and Rudy Project National Badminton Championships on April 22-23 at the Metrosports Badminton Court in Lahug.

Actress Beth Tamayo will lead other stars in the two-day tournament which will have three levels -- C, D and E.

The tournament, which has already attracted 300 participants since March, is open to all badminton enthusiasts both men and women, young and old alike.

Interested players may call Tonette Lim at 0919-433-5282 or or call Metrosports at 233-3338. Registration is still going on at SM and Ayala branches of Rudy Project and the at Metrosports. Fee is P700 per player with A free Rudy Project kit.

Organizers are also expecting participants from neighboring cities to join the event, which will hand out gift items from Rudy Project and cash prizes during the raffle.

Guardo Sports president Jonathan Guardo is very grateful for the huge turnout of participants and the support of other companies in the tournament, which aims to gratify the competitive level of those who are new in the sports.

The tournament is supported by Mobile Gear, San Miguel Corp., Pagcor, Waterfront Hotel, Lahug, Avia, Cebu TV Cannel 28, RCTV, Killerbee, Monster Radio, Sun.Star Cebu, The Freeman, Cebu Daily News, Cebu Grand Hotel, Purefoods, Converse, Globelines, Sulpicio Lines, Viva Mineral Water, Gerry’s Grill, Flame It, Cebu Pacific, Powerade and Coffee Dream.
