The Homecoming: A StarStruck Special
The third and biggest season of the country’s original reality-based artista search may be over and done but the popularity of the StarStruck Survivors, particularly the Final Four, has not subsided. On the contrary, Marky Cielo, Jackie Rice, Gian Carlos and Iwa Moto have joined the rank of the most sought-after young stars today.
They are now very much visible in various GMA-7 programs and enjoying significant roles at that.
Because StarStruck has created another phenomenon in the persons of Marky, Jackie, Gian and Iwa, a two-hour TV special has been created to showcase the Final Four’s journey back to their respective homelands, which they temporarily left behind in their wholehearted pursuit of their StarStruck dream. Airing this Saturday, April 22, from 10 p.m. to 12 midnight (pre-empting Hokus Pokus and Showbiz Stripped), The Homecoming: A StarStruck Special features the four-way return of the StarStruck Final Four and the grand welcome their hometowns have prepared for them.
Marky Cielo’s victory on being the first-ever StarStruck Sole Survivor is a breakthrough triumph shared by the entire Igorot tribe. In his Mt. Province homecoming, Marky is treated to a grand hero’s welcome with the Cordillera region as backdrop. A must-see is Marky’s heart-moving reunion with his Igorot grandparents, who gave him their encouraging embrace when he bid them goodbye a few months back to pursue his StarStrruck dream. Now beaming with his hard-earned victory, Marky comes home to give the tightest embrace of a loving grandson who has made his family and his entire race proud.
On the other hand, a Mardigras welcome awaits Female Ultimate Survivor Jackie Rice right in the heart of her hometown in Olongapo. Jackie’s homecoming also features her graduation plus a shocking admission on her true feelings for a fellow StarStruck Survivor.
Now a changed man after StarStruck boosted his self-esteem and honed his musical talent, Gian Carlos attends his high school graduation in Iloilo and thanks his fellow Ilonggos for their unfaltering support for him throughout StarStruck. However, his fans and supporters will surely be shocked by the revelation of his true health condition, which Gian never mentioned in the duration of the search.
Strong-willed and gutsy, Iwa Moto defied all the rules of what a model survivor should be, but her definition of survival spelled all the difference. Although she had been known to come from Las Piñas because she happened to be living there when she auditioned for StarStruck, she really hails from a remote town in Davao, a place she has not returned to since the artista search started. In her homebound journey back to her real place of origin, what’s in store for this chinita charmer that is bound to melt her heart? In a rare conversation with her Japanese father and stepmother from Japan, will Iwa once again break down in tears?
Apart from tracing the Final Four’s StarStruck journey, The Homecoming: A StarStruck Special also showcases Marky, Jackie, Gian and Iwa’s special production numbers with Mike Tan, Ryza Cenon, LJ Reyes, Rainier Castillo and Yasmien Kurdi of the first two StarStruck Final Four batches.
Entertainment guru and StarStruck Council member Joey De Leon also conducted a special interview with Marky, Jackie, Gian and Iwa which yielded so many revelations and secrets that nobody had known before.
The Homecoming: A StarStruck Special also features “struckflicks” or short dramas of the Final Four under the direction of Rico Gutierrez, making the two-hour special a complete package of reality, documentary, interviews, production numbers and drama presentations that will surely endear Marky, Jackie, Gian and Iwa to viewers’ hearts even more.
Find out why a TV special was created for the newest StarStruck Final Four. Take a closer peek into the colorful and moving lives of Marky, Jackie, Gian and Iwa in The Homecoming: A StarStruck Special.
