Jollibee awards Jonkie for Bogo, Carcar branches
A Cebuano entrepreneur was awarded managing director of the year after “successfully managing” his two food stores the “Jollibee way.”
Joly Bogo Inc. (JBI) managing director Jonkie Ouano, son of Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo Ouano, was awarded last month as Regional Managing Director of the Year 2005 for his “Outstanding Leadership Qualities and Exemplary Performance the Jollibee Way” in the Visayas and Mindanao category.
JBI, a Jollibee franchisee, started operations when it opened Jollibee Bogo in 2001. JBI opened Jollibee in Carcar, Cebu in 2004.

In an interview last Wednesday, Jonkie said JBI is willing to operate one more store if Jollibee Foods Corp. (JFC) will open another area for franchising.
Jonkie, also a print model of a known Swiss watch, received his award during the Franchisee’s Gala Night of JFC held in Baguio City.
“We were judged based on standard, food safety and service. The award is not really for me but for my management team and for the entire JBI family, which works hard and give so much dedication,” he said.
JBI, with over 100 employees, aims to give good quality service and food for its customers, he said.
Earlier this year, Jollibee Bogo and Carcar won JFC’s Silver and Bronze Star awards, respectively, and qualified for the Star Circle Store category.
Less than half of the 650 Jollibee stores qualified to be a part of the Star Circle stores.
To bag the Star Managing Director Award, 80 percent of a franchise holder’s stores must be a Star Circle winner. (ALC)
