Ylac holds 25th Nat'l Biennial Convention

The Young Ladies Association of Charity, Inc. (Ylac) will hold its 25th National Biennial Convention (NBC) on April 28-30 at the Iloilo Grand Hotel in Iloilo City.

This biennium’s theme is, “The Eucharist: a Call to Faithful Stewardship through Solidarity, Participation and Service.” Angel N. Lagdameo, D.D., Archbishop of Jaro, Iloilo and president of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines, will be the keynote speaker during the opening rites. Plenary sessions follow on the second day with two other speakers to complement the message of Bishop Lagdameo.

The three-day affair is a good opportunity for the Ylac ladies coming from 19 units throughout the country, to assess how to put into action the convention theme.

Ylac was founded by the late Baby Quezon in 1946, the pillar and pioneering spirit of the organization. Ylac, now on its 60th year, has grown in membership throughout the years. It focuses on undertaking projects for the marginalized members of our community.

The NBC organizing committee is headed by Dr. Anita Y. Sanchez, Ylac national president, co-chaired by Maria Victoria Lamadrid and Evange lina N. Intal. The latter is the president of the hosting Ylac unit of Miagao, Iloilo.

For inquiries, one may contact Ligaya Congzon at the Ylac National Secretariat by calling Tel. No. 525-9126 local 27, or Mobile Phone # 0917-328-1932.
