Sports activities to kick off this year’s Cebu biz month

The Cebu Business Month (CBM) 2006 celebration will officially kick off with summer events geared to create emerging opportunities for trade and industry in Cebu.

Organizers of CBM 2006 have prepared a series of sports-driven, fun-filled activities that will add up to an active CBM celebration.

CBM’s Summer events will open with an activity on May 5 at the Ayala Center Cebu and will include the PLDT-SMART Mall Challenge, which will be held at the Atrium of SM City Cebu on May 20 to 21

The two-day competition will be based on a team building concept.

Five persons will compose a team, which will include Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry members and representatives from call centers, hotels, restaurants, resorts and major corporations in Cebu.

Tournaments

Another activity is the 2nd San Miguel National Badminton Tournament, which will be a two-day competition from May 27 to 28 at Metro Sports in Salinas Drive, Lahug.

The leveling schedule for the badminton tourney is on May 11 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. only and on May 12 to 13 at 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Meanwhile, Treasure Quest: The Sun Star-Isuzu Challenge is slated on June 3 and around 400 individuals are expected to participate in the event.

Clues and instructions will guide the treasure seekers, who will also meet various challenges along the route.

A minimum of two and a maximum of four participants aged 18 years old and above will take a four-wheel vehicle drive.

CBM 2006 will open The Petron fleet card-PLDT Business Solution Business-In-Golf Tournament on June 22 to 23 at Cebu Country Club.

This is going to be a whole day event for businessmen and executives and will expose the business community’s own list of sports enthusiasts.

Other CBM presentations come in the form of business and entertainment events, which are CBM’s way of promoting business and economic growth in Cebu.

The celebration also aims at introducing Cebuano products. (PR)
