Investment brokerage born in Cebu, 1st in RP
Realizing how difficult it is to choose where to invest in the Philippines, a company has decided to venture into the business brokerage business, a sector that is new in the country.
AAA Commercial Broker and Consultancy Inc. (CBCI) is the first of its kind in the country. It is based here in Cebu.
“Business brokering has been existing all over the world especially in the West,” the company’s communication manager Anna Pollok said in an interview at the East West Restaurant last Tuesday.
Business brokering is intermediating between a business seller and a buyer.
“As we (with family) finally decided to move here (to Cebu) and invest ourselves and our capital in this country, we realized that the most difficult part about it is to do just that—to invest,” AAACBCI president and general manager Michel Nilles said.
Potential
“We feel that there is a strong potential in attracting investment from within the country as well as abroad, but it has been a difficult task to find an object, a business, an idea, or someone who has one. To proceed with the act itself is a barrier that, unfortunately, most investors are not willing or capable to (surmount),” he added
So instead of buying a business, Nilles decided to put up a company that can help build up a tool that would make it easier for potential investors from all over the world to bring their money and “their lives” in the country.
AAACBCI partner Mag-dalena Lepiten said the company can help the country encourage local investors, such as overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), to invest in the country instead of keeping them in the banks.
As of now, she said the country has no standard system of trading business.
“It’s high time for the Philippines and Cebu to have a system of business, in buying and selling, if we want to attract investors and to encourage OFWs to invest,” she said.
Pollok said the company is servicing six clients, three months since it was incorporated in Cebu in February this year. The company has not been fully launched yet.
Manifestation
“This is a manifestation of the need for our kind of service in the Philippines,” she said.
Pollok said the company, through its website www.aaacbc.com, has already received inquiries from other countries in Europe and from Australia.
She said AAACBCI is now in the process of building a database of businesses in the Philippines and those areas that have business potentials.
AAACBCI is composed of professionals with more than 25 years of experience in brokerage, consulting, accounting, marketing and other activities from the financial and business sector.
Its services include assistance in selling and buying a business, creating a new business and buying a franchise.
The company also provides consultancy services, such as business management, communication and knowledge consulting that can help entrepreneurs build their businesses. (JBN)
