Software co. bares plan to increase presence in Cebu
Global software company Sybase Solutions Corp. (SSC) is strengthening its base in Cebu with a new management team.
SSC has named as area distributor for Visayas Richard Tiong of Next IX Inc. The firm also introduced in a gathering for media at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino its new management team headed by president Benjamin Henares, formerly of Unisys and IBM Philippines.
Former Sybase professional services manager Abelardo Talusig has been appointed as professional services director.

“Our clients are happier because we are now offering Cebu-based sales, technical and education support unlike before when they had to go to Manila,” Tiong said.
Tiong said Sybase partners in Cebu will have a better chance of succeeding if they dedicate themselves to the Sybase business and drive some of the company’s new products and solutions.
Among the few solutions that Sybase provides the Philippines are database management and application development.
Mehul Rajparia, Sybase channel sales director for Asia Pacific countries, said the company focuses on four campaign goals: trusted infrastructure, intelligent enterprise, information anywhere and integrated development.
Sybase provides information management and mobility software that helps customers optimize investments by managing and releasing the value of information; link resources by integrating, securing and speeding the flow of information, independent of data source or destination; and extend enterprise applications securely to the point of action.
