Speak out: Cebuanos are watching By Charity Langahid Barangay Sambag 2, Cebu City
(This is an open letter to Cebu City councilors)
People have always regarded you as the Yes-Yes men and a mere rubber stamp of your lord and mayor, Tomas Osmeña.
When the gates of Sto. Niño Basilica was closed to us, devotees of the Sto. Niño, you did not dare say a word against the misdeeds of your mayor.
When the Cebuanos again were deprived of using the coastal road (even if the city did not spend a single centavo in building it because the national government spent for it), you again did not say a word.
Your silence on the big issues undertaken by the mayor against the people is deafening!
Now, with the issue on the boundary dispute between Lahug/Apas, Lahug/ Barangay Luz, Lahug/ Camputhaw we, Cebuanos, are watching all of you.
Is it right for the mayor to get back all the properties of Lahug just because the multi-awarded Barangay Capt. Mary Ann de los Santos is not his ally?
Think and think independently, please!
