Globe, Innove back CBM ’06; help provide SMEs’ IT needs

Globe Telecom and Innove Communications have set their sights on Cebu as a location of choice by foreign direct investments.

This, as Globe and Innove announced their support for the 13th Cebu Business Month (CBM), an event organized by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI).

“As a major driver of the country’s information and communications technology (ICT) sector, we make sure we are at par with our global neighbors. The advances and gains that Globe and Innove have achieved in the telecommunications industry are vital to the growth of Cebu’s business sector, to achieve the province’s goal to be a global market player,” said Innove chief administrative officer Rac-quel Cagurangan.

Develop SMEs

This year’s CBM, with the theme “Invest Cebu,” is geared towards developing small and medium enterprises (SMEs), tourism and ICT industries.

One of the thrusts of CBM 2006 is strengthening the role of SMEs in enhancing Cebu’s global competitiveness.

Globe and Innove are committed to helping the region’s business sector.

They cater not only to the needs of large enterprises but also provide voice, data and broadband services bundled to suit the requirements of SMEs.

Businesss-minded

“We are glad to be part of the Cebu Business Month as it takes on entrepreneurship as the theme for this year’s activities. I believe Filipinos are generally business-minded and a lot of successful ventures come from Cebu,” Cagurangan said.

“Globe and Innove’s pioneering communications services and robust nationwide network will be of great help to Cebu businesses as they go global. We are pleased to work hand-in-hand with Cebuanos who exemplify Filipino entrepreneurship,” she added.

The CBM is an annual trade and industry festival promoting the many business opportunities in Cebu. The event encourages an investment-led growth that aims to make Cebu a catalyst for foreign investments in the region. (PR)
