Shakey’s volleyball resumes tomorrow
Action in the Shakey’s Girls’ Volleyball Invitational League resumes tomorrow at the University of San Carlos (USC) Gym.
The event has attracted seven teams, with the champion earning the right to represent Cebu in the national finals on June 1-3 at the Ateneo covered courts.
The University of San Jose-Recoletos, Don Gerardo Ouano National High School and the Mandaue Comprehensive National High School opened their bids in the tournament limited to girls 18-years-old or younger with straight-set wins.
Other teams are USC, University of Southern Philippines, Pit-os National High School and the University of Cebu.
Meanwhile, 22 teams are fighting for the right to represent the National Capital Region in the national finals. Among the current leaders are University of Sto. Tomas, Hope Christian School, University of the East, Colegio San Agustin, University of Perpetual Help-Laguna, Quezon City High School and St. Francis of Assisi, Bacoor. (ML)
