Yamaha Pan-Asean tour reaches Philippine leg
The Yamaha Pan-Asean tour has reached the last and final stage of their event—the Philippine leg. The tour which started last November in Indonesia covers more than 15,000 kilometers and six Asean countries.
For the last six months, 16 Yamaha riders have been making their way across Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam. Members of the tour group were selected by Yamaha distributors from the different participating countries.
The Philippine leg of the tour kicked off in Cebu last May 17 and will continue for 10 days. The riders will then finish in Metro Manila on May 27 in time for the launching of Yamaha’s newest model, the Sniper 135.
The Sniper 135 adopts the latest of Yamaha technologies and is a 4-stroke underbone model, equipped with liquid cooled engine and a 4-valve design.
The riders will use the Sniper 135 as they travel through 18 provinces in the country.
Norkis Trading Co. Inc., which is responsible for organizing the Philippine leg, says that the tour is their way of promoting the Philippines as a good travel destination and will serve to also strengthen Yamaha’s image nationwide. (Angela Christie Marie Avanceña, UP Masscom intern)
