Alaska seeks another scalp from San Mig
THE Alaska Aces will try to use their psychological boost gained after beating the San Miguel Beermen in Antipolo City the last time out when they take on the Brgy. Ginebra Kings today at the Araneta Coliseum.
After their 95-77 win over the Beermen that shoved them to fourth spot and enhanced their chances of earning one of three outright quarterfinal berths, the Aces will try to ink win number nine in 16 outings against the Kings, who are currently at sixth spot with a 6-8 win-loss mark.
Reynel Hugnatan, who led an excellent performance by the Alaska bench that carried the Aces to victory past San Miguel, is again expected to step up big alongside newly-acquired Willie Miller and big man Eddie Laure.
Also expected to spearhead Alaska’s offense are starters Nic Belasco, Jeffrey Cariaso, Mike Cortes, Sonny Thoss and Tony dela Cruz, while John Ferriols will provide offense and rebounding from the bench.
The Kings, for their part, will be headed by Mark Caguioa, JJ Helterbrand, Rommel Adducul, Rodney Santos and Eric Menk. The Beermen, on the other hand, will take on the Express in the opening game with Danny Seigle, Dorian Peña, Danny Ildefonso, Christian Calaguio and Migs Noble leading the charge. (JSV) |
