Barangay chiefs can’t tote M16 rifles?

Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña will not have to do a hard sell to convince police officials of his plan to provide mountain barangay leaders with M16 rifles.

Chief Supt. Silverio Alarcio Jr., Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 director, said he is okay with the plan as long as the regulations on firearm use allow it.

Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Chief Melvin Gayotin shares Alarcio’s view.
