Town grants approval to 2nd phase of Amara

The Municipal Council of Liloan yesterday passed a resolution approving the development plan for the second phase of seaside residential subdivision, Amara.

Ayala Land affiliate Cebu Holdings Inc. (CHI) and its partner, Coastal Highpoint Ventures Inc. (CHVI), is developing Amara, a 46-hectare seaside residential community located in Barangay Catarman, Liloan.

One of the few lighthouse communities in the world, Amara broke sales records during the launch of its first phase in October last year. It is set to launch the second phase of development in the next few weeks.

The second phase of Amara sits on a 6.8-hectare portion of the property and will consist of 87 lots which include bluff, promontory, parola and seaview units.

To help promote a relaxed and healthy lifestyle among its residents, Amara Phase 2 will feature a sports and recreation club as well as a serenity park with a gazebo and lagoon.

Phase 2 is adjacent to the century-old Bagacay lighthouse, which is operated by the Philippine Coast Guard and was named a national historical landmark last month.

Then US Governor Gen. William Howard Taft declared the facility as a reservation in 1904 through Executive Order 60.

Today, the lighthouse is deemed as one of the few remaining lighthouses that serve as examples of American architecture in the country. (PR)
