Barangay coastal cleanup set

The officials of Ba-rangay Sto. Niño in Cebu City will spearhead a whole day cleanup drive along the V. Gullas Creek tomorrow.

With the support of owners of nearby establishments, the barangay officials, led by Barangay Captain Wil-fredo Po, will start the activity at 6 a.m.

The cleanup is in connection with the Coastal Management Board’s third coastal cleanup activity under the leadership of Vice Mayor Michael Rama and Councilor Edwin Jagmoc.

The purpose of the civic action is to rehabilitate the city’s creeks, rivers and seas that are already polluted with garbage.

Awareness

Another goal is to increase public awareness on solid waste management and to develop the public’s sense of love and care for the environment.
