Cebu-based school uses new teaching methods
Cambridge Child Development Centre has further chiseled its curriculum by taking into account the developments in the field of early childhood education and created the Project-Based Ecological Model teaching methodology.
The approach provides children with an even more developmentally appropriate curriculum in consideration of their interests, abilities and surroundings.
It is not a rigid and static but instead evolves and progresses with the child and the teachers.
School directress Jacqui Limtin said, “We believe that the best way to prepare children for the ‘big school’ is to provide a ‘hands on’ approach of discovery and experimentation. This promotes a keen interest in learning and lays the foundation for more abstract learning in later years. Cambridge addresses the needs of the whole child. Because activities are open-ended and success-oriented, they facilitate growth for every ability level and foster a positive self-image. Activities are carefully selected to promote social, emotional, physical, creative and intellectual growth.”
Philosophy
The Cambridge educational philosophy is to promote the total development of each child while respecting individual differences.
Cambridge believes that a child’s self-confidence and self-esteem are fundamental to learning and typical development.
The preschool program ultimately provides an environment for children to develop a positive self-concept and love of learning. Now in its fourth year in Cebu, Cambridge provides a range of programs.
Cambridge is an international preschool in Nivel Hills, Lahug, Cebu City. Interested persons may call the school at 233-4690.
