IBM launches IT redo competition
By Information Technology

Cebu-based small and medium businesses (SMBs) have the chance to get a free makeover of their information technology (IT) systems by participating in a nationwide challenge initiated by the IBM Philippines Inc.

IBM Philippines is launching the IBM Makeover Challenge, an innovative cross-brand, cross-industry campaign targeted at SMBs in the Philippines.

The company will award an IT makeover worth as much as $50,000, which include hardware, software and services to the winner of the said challenge.

Need1

Open to IBM’s SMB clients and competitive accounts with 100 to 999 employees, the entries will be judged based on the need for IT solutions and how the IBM solutions can help the participant’s organization.

However, government departments, agencies and government-owned companies, as well as firms with valid proposals from IBM Philippines for products provided in the makeover challenge, are not eligible to participate in this program.

Contestants are evaluated according to their ability to: simplify and improve utilization and better management of servers; improve collaboration and employee productivity; and establish IT security in relation to data and email protection, among others.

Contestants will get a chance to win a ThinkPad in a raffle draw.

The contest period started on June 1 and will end July 14. The winner will be announced in August 2006. IBM Philippines urges those who would like to participate in the program to fill up the entry form at http://www.8.ibm.com/ph/makeover. (PR)
