Guardo extends support to Sisos
Former Cebu City Sports Commission chairman Jonathan Guardo will extend financial support to the Siso siblings, three of the country’s top age-groupers, in the forthcoming Milo Tennis Cup on July 7 to 9 in Ozamiz City.
Bernardine “Niño” will compete in the 14-Under Boys Division, while sisters Sally Mae will vie in the 12-Under and 14-Under Girls Division, and Sallydine will contend in the 14-Under and 16-Under Girls Division.
The siblings’ father, Sun.Star Superbalita reporter Dino Siso, who was their number one fan and trainer, passed away last month.
“Even if Dino is not around anymore, I think they will continue to excel because of the lessons he imparted on Sally Mae, Sallydine and Niño. They have been raised as champions and I believed they will continue to do so,” said Guardo.
Sally, the kids’ mother, expressed her gratitude to all their sponsors and supporters for the continued support especially now when they need it the most.
Grateful
“We are very thankful to Mr. Guardo because he has been supporting us even before. This is another challenge for my kids to excel further now that they don’t have their father physically around with them each game. But we know that Dino is watching us from above and we dedicate each and every game to him,” said Sally, Dino’s better half.
The Sisos competed in the Tru Flex National Tennis Tournament in Manila and the Gullas Cup recently here before their father passed away.
