Differently abled swimmers suit up for more tilts
After a successful stint in the Philippine Olympic Festival, Cebu’s differently abled tankers are now gearing up for two other national competitions.
The team headed by bemedalled coach Rolando Alvarez is inviting all persons with disabilities to join the team that will compete in the 4th Philippine Sports for the Differently Abled (Philspada) National Games to be held in Bacolod City next year.
As early as now, Alvarez said that he wants to form a team so that they will have ample time to prepare.
The Philspada games will serve as the tryouts for the selection process of the members of the Philippine, who will compete in the 4th Southeast Asian Para Games to be held in Bangkok, Thailand later next year.
Those interested may contact Alvarez at telephone numbers 419-6459 or 0910-4553914.
Alvarez and his wards Arnold Balais, Hilario Romano and Noel Gonzales put up a stellar performance in the recently concluded POC Festival Swimming competition at the Trace Aquatic Center. (MCB)
