Labella lashes at Pesquera
It was just one of the ordinary reports of the committee on budget and finance, but what roused the dozing gallery at yesterday’s session was the argument that followed between two Cebu City councilors.

Councilor Edgardo Labella, who is known to be always composed, was offended by the way Councilor Jocelyn Pesquera, committee chairperson, transmitted her report on unliquidated cash advances. He is among those listed.

At least 400 inmates earn about P45 for every export-quality bag they make. The Cebu provincial jail has four sewing machines used to make all the inmates’ uniforms. Some prisoners also serve as cutters, while others print T-shirts that are sold to clients.
