CCCI recognizes pioneering firms
FIVE foreign companies have recently received recognition for their contributions to the local economy.
The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), during its grand chamber awards night last week, gave special citations to: the Academy for Creating Enterprise (Called2Serve Philippines Inc.), Shangri-La’s Mactan Island Resort, Sykes Asia Inc., NEC Telecom Software Philippines and Dash Engineering Philippines Inc.
Called2Serve, which was founded in 1999 by American couple Stephen and Bette Gibson, is cited for developing and training micro-entrepreneurs from among poor but deserving Filipinos.
Shangri-La’s recognition came from its being the first internationally renowned resort locator in Cebu.
For being the pioneer call center locator in Cebu providing global customer support solutions, Sykes, among other call centers in Cebu, got the special citation award.
NEC and Dash Engineering, on the other hand, were recognized for being the pioneer offshore developer and an engineering outsourcing locator in Cebu, respectively. (JBN)
