Caalam, Pelenio rule in Badminton Republic
Partners Manny Caalam and Raul Pelenio and the duo of Mercy Buagas and Maureen Dakay ruled in their respective doubles category in the 5th Badminton Republic Tournament 2006 last Sunday at the Portside Badminton Plaza in Mandaue City.
Caalam and Pelenio defeated Eding Yu and Edcel Tan, 15-13, 15-10 in the men’s doubles finals, while Buagas and Dakay downed Gemma Cabrera and Chona Loma, 15-12, 15-13 in the women’s doubles finals.
Yu and Edcel settled for second in the men’s doubles, as did Cabrera and Loma in the women’s doubles.
Arman Bolo and Hans Villamor landed third in the men’s doubles, while Baby Lim and Menchu Yu also went third in the women’s doubles.
The winners received special plates as trophies. (JAF)
