Gold-winning pug to fight in Umapad
A gold medallist in the recent 21st Visayas Inter-City Developmental Amateur Boxing Championship in Maasin City will headline the cast of amateur hopefuls in the “Bakbakan Sa Tindahan ni Tita Gwapa II” Amateur Boxing Challenge in Umapad, Mandaue City on Saturday.
Cebu City’s lone gold-medal winner, Donald Tubod of Pit-os National High School, and Mandaue City’s Edcel Tuñacao of Phil-Aust Gym will see action against separate opponents in the 14-bout card sanctioned by the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines-Cebu Chapter.
Tubod will fight Richard Villanueva of Phil-Aust Gym in a 38-kilogram division match, while Tuñacao is paired with Rolito Mingaska of Barili, Cebu in the 45kg class.
The card include Marlou Tobis of Mandaue City Comprehensive National High School (MCCNHS) versus Eddie Boy Abiar of Maguikay, Mandaue City (30kg); KJ Pelayo of Talamban NHS vs. Dann Lou Codilla also of Talamban NHS (32kg); Gerald Suico of Maguikay, Mandaue City vs. Erwin San Roque of Banilad Elementary School (34kg); Antonio Calida of Phil.-Aust Gym vs. Junard Lukay-Lukay of Cebu City (36kg);
Richky Nuñez of Phil-Aus Gym vs. Jende Boy Mahusay of Pier 4, Cebu City (40kg); Charlie Redula of Pakana-an, Mandaue City vs. Junrey Semblante of Phil-Aust Gym (42kg); Benjamin Espinosa of Bato, Leyte vs. Kevin Baunsit of Phil-Aust Gym (42kg); Dexter Jumao-as of Pakna-an, Mandaue City vs. Pedro Sulondro of Tabok, Mandaue City and Alde Desosa of Labogon, MC vs. Mado Estra of Phil-Aust Gym (57kg).
