Cebu X 2007 set for launch in 3 premier cities

Hundreds of exhibitors, key leaders, sponsors, partners and stakeholders of the furniture and furnishing industry will once again flock to the Queen City of the South for the premier launching of the new and bolder Cebu X 2007.

The 18th Cebu International Furniture and Furnishings Exhibition—globally acknowledged as Cebu X, will be launched in three different venues starting in Cebu City on July 18, at the Manila Function Room of the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel, Nivel Hills, Lahug, Cebu City at 5 p.m.

The event will be followed by the Bacolod roadshow on July 20 at the Association of Negros Producers Showroom at 3 p.m.

The Cebu X roadshow will be staged last in Metro Manila on July 21 at the Dusit Hotel Nikko in Makati City at 11 a.m.

Bolder

Cebu X organizers are inviting stakeholders, sponsors, company owners and partners to attend the launching.

“The bolder Cebu X represents the unwavering lead of the Philippines as the design destination of Asia. Despite the challenges and threats the industry and Cebu X encountered during the first quarter of the year, bolder than ever, Cebu X is ready to face these challenges by coming up with projects, initiative and moves suited for the upliftment and improvement of our stakeholders, primarily the exhibitors,” said Cebu X 2007 chairman Eric Mendoza.

Earlier this year, Cebu X was challenged with the threat of the furniture industry’s declining market share in the world furniture demand, and the growing competition from its neighboring shows in terms of design and government support.

Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation Inc. (CFIF) executive director Ruby Babao-Salutan admitted that Cebu X is a challenged fair.

Attractive

However, with the help of its exhibitors and partners, the organizers are optimistic that the Cebu X 2007 will successfully hit its set targets for the year.

“Cebu X still remains to be one of one of the most attractive and design-oriented shows in the Asian Circuits with a very high concentration of exhibitors showing highly innovative designs’ with value-adding inputs,” CFIF board of trustee Laurie Boquiren disclosed.

Boquiren added that Cebu X has already positioned a niche in the area of design and high value-added furniture and furnishings focusing on lifestyle settings.

She further confirmed that Cebu X is also a respected show among its exhibition peers and is considered as one of the most well-managed and well- promoted shows in the region.

Cebu X is organized annually by the primary industry support organization of furniture manufacturers and exporters in the Philip-pines—CFIF.

A Golden Shell awardee and acknowledged as one of the oldest furniture show in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations region, Cebu X is acknowledged as the most viable marketing platform of the small and medium enterprises of the Philippine furniture industry. (PR)
