CFIF holds training series
In line with its thrust to maintain the Philippines’ competitiveness in the field of design, the Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation Information Center (CFIF IC) will conduct a series of training on design to be conducted by a European consultant.
The Design Trends Series will be held from July 26 to Aug. 4 at the Sarrosa Hotel.
The program involves factory visits, trainings and consultancy that will be conducted by Franz Josef Bauer, a European consultant on industrial design, fashion and computer-aided design.
CFIF executive director Ruby Babao-Salutan said one-on-one consultations will also be conducted by Bauer with interested furniture designers.
The CFIF is also getting financial assistance from international organizations, such as the European Union (EU) Asia Invest and the Canadian International Development Agency, she said.
The Design Trends series, which aims to strengthen Cebu’s position as the design destination of Asia, is 80 percent subsidized by EU Asia Invest, a European community initiative that aims to promote and support business cooperation between the EU and Asia. (JBN)
