Maybank contributes in saving La Mesa Watershed
Maybank, in a bid to strengthen its corporate citizenship in the Philippines where it has been operating for almost a decade, recently included environmental care and rehabilitation among its community service involvements.
Maybank has made a contribution to the reforestation of the La Mesa Watershed by adopting 100 indigenous trees. The La Mesa Watershed is the last remaining forest in Metro Manila and the site of the reservoir that supplies water to millions of people in the metropolis.
Bantay Kalikasan, the environmental arm of ABS-CBN Foundation, is currently in charge of the site’s rehabilitation and protection.
Maybank Philippines is a member of the Maybank Group, Malaysia’s largest banking group and among Asia’s Top 20 banks.
With this simple gesture, Maybank Philippines continues the tradition of the group’s involvement in relevant community or outreach projects which began locally in 2004 with donations to Caritas Manila, ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya and other localized programs.
