Eddie Kam Cheong Kong is Cathay Pacific new Cebu manager. He takes over from Suzanne Wong who has moved to Vietnam to assume the position of country manager.

A graduate of Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, Kong joined Cathay Pacific Airways in September of 2002 as a Management trainee. In the same year, he became assistant to the general manager for Cathay Pacific Loyalty Programmes which oversees both Asia Miles and Marco Polo Club.

He then moved on to the Corporate Communication Department before being sent to his first overseas posting as assistant to the Regional Manager-Taiwan and Korea where he stayed until 2005.

Before moving to Cebu, Kong was the assistant manager for Revenue Management where he was responsible for analyzing and monitoring revenue performance, as well as making accurate revenue forecasts.

Reporting to Country Manager-Philippines Vivian Lo, Kong will be responsible for directing the operations of Cathay Pacific’s Cebu office and will be leading the team in maintaining its strength and position in the area.

A Hong Kong Chinese national, Kong has varied personal interests ranging from travel to music, theatre and badminton. He has been to many interesting places including islands in the Arctic, villages in Italy and Turkey and even to Davao and Boracay. In fact, he got his diving license in Boracay and is looking forward to doing advanced diving courses while in Cebu.
