Tomas, Margot to celebrate birthdays in HK

It will be a time for rest and recreation for the Osmeña family when the mayor and his wife celebrate their birthdays in Hong Kong and Macau later this week.

Cebu City Mayor To-mas Osmeña said he just wants to relax on the day he turns 58.

The mayor, his wife Margot and their son Miguel left for Hong Kong yesterday afternoon for their four-day vacation.

Osmeña will be celebrating his birthday on Wednesday while Margot will celebrate her 57th birthday tomorrow.

They will also be celebrating their 23rd wedding anniversary on Friday.

“It’ just a short vacation, it’s only a four-day, three-night trip... I just want to relax,” he told reporters last Friday.

In his news conference, Osmeña said they will also make a day trip to Macau to visit the various development projects in the area.

Back to work

For the mayor, his birthday is a time for relaxation, having previously scheduled his vacations in time for their birthdays.

In 2004, he also spent some time off from work to be with his family in Boracay Island in Aklan Province.

The mayor is expected to be back in Cebu on Thursday. (LCR )
