Cellphone users grow by 7.2%

Wireless subscribers of the Philippine Long Distance and Telephone Co. (PLDT) increased by 1.57 million during the second quarter of the year.

The figure brings to a total of 2.06 million the total subscribers of both Smart Communications and Piltel for the first six months of the year.

As a result, the company now has approximately 22.47 million cellular subscribers as of June 30, it told the Philippine Stock Exchange in a disclosure.

The telecommunications company confirmed a published article that it’s subscribers grew by 7.2 percent from the figures during the first quarter of the year. (CYR)
